I. Backchanneling
A. I created this resource to assist teachers with
utilizing backchanneling in their classroom. The presentation seeks to
answer all your questions, such as: What is backchanneling? What are the
advantages and disadvantages of using backchanneling in my classroom? How
can backchanneling be part of best practice? I included screenshots of the
'better' backchanneling sites, as well as, created a virtual chat for you
to participate in and established a walk thru to assist you with your own
creations. I hope you enjoy

II. Quizlet
A. Quizlet allows educators to create online
flashcards, or share flashcards that others have created. The user can
shuffle through cards, remove cards as they get them correct. This would
be a great tool to use for review activities. Oh, and the best
part....ITS FREE!

III. Timetoast
A. An online, interactive timeline
creation tool. The user can research other timelines relative to content, or
create their own for a class project or assignment . Timelines can be
printed or published.

A. TIny chat is awesome! It provides audio
and video web communication services in disposable conference rooms for up to
400 people!--Obviously, we won't have that many, but it also allows 12
audio-video streams (as long as you have a webcam you can see the people
you are talking to face to face). Once you visist the site you click
Create your own room, Instant room, it provides you with the url that you could
email students, teachers etc. Click enter room. join as a Guest, provide a
nickname.click start brodcasting, select your camera, test your audio and bam!
You are ready to go! Its fun, simple and could make a world of difference.
Students could login for help with homework, why not offer after school tutoring
at the convenience of your home and send out the URL for students to
join?! Communciate with teachers during plan and so forth. Its great for
students to use. You do not have to use the video feature it could serve as a
chatroom.

VII.
USING DROPBOX-Drop box is basically
a remote hard drive. You get 2GB free when you sign up using your
email. How it works is simply: you download it on your computer, drag the
files you want into drop box, they are sent to a remote server and you can then
access the document anywhere that you install drop box, or anywhere that dropbox
is already installed. Multiple people can edit documents and drage them to
drop box, this alleviates sending mass emails back and forth and removes the
'final, final final copy' when saving. There are multiple benefits of
using dropbox...check it out with this funny video: https://www.dropbox.com/
